A star was born...
The DOXA SUB 300T was born introducing two revolutionary innovations. The first feature was the unidirectional rotating bezel which integrated a no-decompression limit table to the watch. The official US Navy Air dive table for no-decompression dives was engraved on the bezel to assist divers in taking care of time and water depth during underwater excursions. Years later, other brands were inspired by this feature and decided to print extracts of the no-decompression limit table on the strap of their diver watches.

Breaking all the rules, the second and very progressive decision was to use a luminous bright orange dial instead of common classic black and white. The idea behind the orange dial was to achieve high readability under extreme dark diving conditions.

The orange face turned out to be a big success, leading to a huge interest in bright colour dials for diver watches, motivating other watch manufacturers to use colourful dials for their diver watches and DOXA itself to continue this success adding new models to their diver line with other unusual colourful dials like in the Searambler (silver) and Divingstar (yellow).

SUB 300T, Dr. Cussler & Dirk Pitt®...
The unusual bright orange dial of the DOXA SUB 300T made Dr. Clive Cussler*, the famous US writer well-known for his best-selling action-adventure novels, choose the DOXA diver as the unique timing instrument for his popular adventure character Dirk Pitt.

* Acknowledged as the Grand Master of the American action-adventure novel his famous Dirk Pitt novels are published in more than 40 languages in more than 100 countries with a readership of more than 120 million avid fans. Dr. Clive Cussler is also founder and chairman of

Manufactured to the same specifications of the original of 1967, the re-edition reflects contemporary lifestyle while maintaining its traditional flair and design of the late sixties. Other models like the Sharkhunter (black dial), Searambler (silver dial) and Divingstar (yellow dial) will follow.

It all began in 1967...
when DOXA decided to add a diver watch to its wristwatch collection.

The idea of manufacturing a diver watch was extraordinary and challenging for one of the most traditional Swiss watch manufacturers, founded in 1889, well known for elegant dress watches made of solid white or yellow gold utilizing very reliable high grade movements.

DOXA SUB was born

It was a challenge for DOXA to place a new product intended for professional divers. DOXA therefore decided to set new accents in the diver watch world by adding unique features to their diver watch series.

DOXA teamed up with one of Americas largest sports diver associations to benefit from professional sports diving expertise and combined it with almost one century of Swiss watch making craftsmanship to develop a state of the art diver watch.

The DOXA SUB was finally born in 1967 introducing two revolutionary security concepts: breaking all the rules, the first and very progressive decision was to use a luminous bright orange dial instead of common classic black and white to achieve high readability under extreme dark diving conditions.

The second innovation was the unidirectional rotating bezel integrating the functionality of a no-decompression limit table to the watch. The official US Navy Air dive table for no-decompression dives was engraved (meters) on the bezel to assist divers in taking care of time and water depth during underwater excursion.

Military DOXA SUB:
